Although, I would have thought the clutch would have held up better.

Man that car has a lot of time to lose though in the 1/8th at that mph. I trapped a 103.43 mph and ran 6.6570 (and for that matter 102.864 mph and ran 6.552). Granted, different trans, different gear, different tires and a different setup, but still.

I believe that car has atleast 2 or 3 tenths to loose in the 1/8th. And 2 or 3 in the 1/8th will be 4 or 5 in the 1/4.

Which means it is a mid 10sec car with what is considered basic/light modifications... WOW

Actually, a fellow named Ranger from the 'Vette forums, who is a GOD when it comes to drag-racing Corvettes, says that the car might be capable of high tens STOCK. His best run so far was an 11.3 @ 127 stock, down to the run-flat tires.

This is the same guy who was able to take a C5 Z06 to an 11.8 ET stock, on a 1.78 60'. His 11.3 run in the C6 Z was with a 1.90 60'. He ran the same car on DR's and got an 11.2 @ 125 (link (http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread.php?t=1326732&forum_id=100)).

He definitely feels that the car is capable of 10.9's with NO modifications, except DR's--he was running into a headwind when he ran 11.2's.

BTW, wanna see what power the car can make with only an intake kit and a tune? http://www.z06vette.com/forums/showthread.php?t=97006

Picked my car up from the Vette Doctors yesterday. I wasn't ready to go for the headers yet as I wanted to get used to the power of the car first. I decided to just go with their Air Charger System and a tune.

First...the numbers!
Stock---------461.5hp--439tq
w/Air Charger--475hp----448tq
w/Air Charger & Tune--------488.7----460.5tq

The quality of the product is excellent. You can't even tell anything is installed looking under the hood. There's zero chance of it picking up any water. I drive my car every day even in the rain and I have no concern at all.

As for the sensitive mass airflow sensor the car idles perfectly....no "bucking" at even at low RPM's. I did everything I could driving slow in 1st...bogging out the engine..ect. The car drives perfectly. As for the drive you can really feel the difference. I figured starting with 500hp that 30hp wouldn't make much of a difference...well it does.

I pulled onto the highway today hard through 1st and 2nd. 2nd felt like the clutch slipped....I was pissed. I pulled back around onto the same ramp and I found two wide black lines about 50 feet in length. It would seem the clutch was fine...the tires were spinning hard through second. I've never had that happen before. Remember the first time you wound out third gear in this car to redline and you were like "Oh My God"...well it's even crazier now.

$299 for the air charger...no "z06 surcharge".

So $600 and I'm putting out more power than a lot of guys with headers. I couldn't be any more pleased with the whole setup. Can't wait to pick up their American Racing headers and put out well over 500 to the wheels.

P.S....no games were played here like some people. Stock Air Filter was in place the entire time. Air Charger...Fuse Pulled...Conservative 12.5 tune..that's it!

Let me know if anyone has any questions or needs any pictures posted.

So where do I go rob a bank? :banghead:

Lol. I dont know what kind of mods the car had, but whatever it had, its got a better ET in it. The mph probably wouldn't change much (might would even drop), but the ET can improve alot.

Whoever drove the car for that pass just needs to work on his 60 ft. Because I'm telling ya, 103 mph in the 1/8th should have been well into the 6 second range.

No doubt there is. 31x14 slicks, 4-link w/coil overs, solid axel, powerglide tranny, and 5.13 gear vs. probably not as tall tires (which would slow down the mph), IRS, 6-spd manual, and probably 3.xx gear.

But still, he ran 103 mph in the 1/8th. He should be under 7 seconds.
