Is there anything you can buy that will turn 1 pair into 2 pair? I'm looking to get a CD player with 2 pair but they are going for way more than I want so if I could just buy a CD player with 1 pair of preamp outputs I could save some money for a better amp.

I don't what the audiophiles will say but they make splitters for RCA cables. Not sure what that will do to SQ but you will get basically 2 outputs...but they will be the same output just split. So if you was wanting a front and rear output then I have no clue. Except search ebay for head units. My girlfriends dad got a newer pioneer hu with 2 preouts and 2 door speakers he only paid like $115.

splitter
you'll lose a little voltage on the preouts but not much

you can just use Y-cables if you want, they used to make a fader with RCA jacks wired in but I haven't seen one of those in like 20 years

Another option you have is getting a 7 band EQ which will allow you to input the rca's into it and usually has rca's coming out for front, rear, and sub.

I'll look into that. Thanks for the advice.

Or heres a slightly more expensive one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=9708412211&category=79841#sp
7-Band Rotary Equalizer
12 dB Boost/Cut at 50 Hz, 125 Hz, 345 Hz, 750 Hz, 2.2 KHz, 6 KHz, and 16 kHz
Adjustable AUX input sensitivity
Rotary volume control
6 channel RCA outputs
AUX input w/ source select switch
Sub output level control
Gold plated preamp inputs
Gold plated preamp outputs
Rotary fader
Selectable 60/90 Hz Low-Pass Crossover
RCA Jack Yes
Signal-to-Noise Ratio 105dB
Frequency Responce 10-50,000Hz
Output Impedance (ohms) 50K Ohms
Input Impedance (RCA) 10K Ohms
Which one is better, or are they both crap?
And one more thing. Does getting this allow me to get a "crappy" CD player. Like all it has to do is play CDs and get radio stations since I would be amping and equalizing everything from another source? I wouldn't need all the fancy bonuses the expensive ones have?

dang, I forgot about the indash EQ's ... and I even have one in my other car.
CD players with no built-in amp are usually the higher end, more expensive ones. I never use the headunits amp anyway, if I get one that has a builtin amp.
