the scorpio is not the same as the granada, the granada ended in 85 i think, the scorpio was produced from around 85 i think, and it has the 2.0, v6 engine, and the v6 cosworth engine. and yes the granada, scorpio and sierra all had the ghia model. the sierra had the v6 ghia model, and the 4x4 is the sierra xr4i with a v6 with 150hp same chassi as the merkur xr4ti.

I guess that will clear some things up.

and it was the uk granada that had the 3.0 essex engine.
the german had the 2.8 cologne engine, which is the better engine.

In a quick search of the internet, I can find nothing to dispute your claim that the "Scorpio" replaced the "Granada" in 1985/6.

The American Scorpio had the 2.9L version of the Cologne V6. Americans are still getting this engine in the Explorer/Mountaineer and Ranger in 4.0L SOHC form.

In the UK The top Granada models were called the Scorpio, generally fitted with the 2.9 24v cosworth engine, but they were a "Granada Scorpio"

Like Robert say's it was known as the "granada Scorpio" and was a higher spec model, later on (not sure of year) but ford dropped the granada badge and the scorpio name lived!! the higher spec scorpio's are the ultima's :)

Hudson, do you know if many peeps tune the scorpio 2.9 cologne in the states or have any useful websites :) I'm supercharging my Sierra 2.9 cologne and any info available would be appreciated :)
