Lightened flywheels and underdrive pulleys

I just got a 95 Integra LS (and after I bought it found out I got that dang moonroof not closing problem (TSB 97-030), but besides the point).

My friend has a 97 GS-R that got wrecked by some bus in the city. The engine is still good tho. For $250.00 and my old engine, he will give me the GS-R engine and tranny.

While the engine is out I am going to do all my upgrades to it. On of my plans was a aluminum alloy lightened flywheel but another friend of mine said that will bring the streetability down to nothing. For those of you that have lightened flywheels is it still streetable?

And underdrive pulleys... do they significantly decrease the power in a power steering module?

you should get a chromoly one instead of a aluminum one. it is still streetable. idk what idiot told you that

A guy that knows something about engines, but not a lot about anything else. His reasoning is that it revs up so quickly that you hit fuel cutoff near instantly, making letting go of the clutch a risky procedure at a stop sign. Although he sings praises about underdrive pulley's.

But because I have discovered him to be wrong about other things (such as his statement that 17" wheels are unstable and tend to explode at high speeds, or that higher compression (Type-R) engines can run the same boost as a GS-R "as long as you retard the timing") then I tend to doubt his opinion until it is verified.

Any word about the underdrive pulley's?

I need a new flywheel as well....who makes chromoly flywheels and where can i get one??

thats a killer deal! I haven't heard much about underdrive pullies for hondas, people say if you can get 'em cheap go for it, but people w/ domestic "sport compacts" rave about 'em. I'd look into it more if I were you. As for the flywheel, I agree that chromoly is the way to go, just talk to a local shop or check out reputable places on line.
