2001 Gear Shift Light

Had the light on the gear shift go on my Elantra a few months back (automatic) . Went to the dealer and they tell me it is a major job to do this, more cost then worth as the indicator is on the dash as well.

Anyone do this? If so any instructions anywhere that I can take a look at?
