ive got a 98 cav z24 and at times the traction control light comes on that says the traction control is off. Whenever the light is on, the car will shift very rough. is there anything i can do besides replace the tranny again?

theres a couple things you can do..... get an ecu that doesnt have traction control programmed into it.... get a racing transmission..... get a shift kit from your local shop which is alot cheaper then replacing the transmission, because they are referbushing the one you have..... get a manual car...... make sure your crank case and gears are alined correctly, and stop beating the crap out of the car....

well im not going to put any racing tech into this. this car is for driving to work and back and for no reason would i beat the crap out of it. this thing is nothing compared to my 94 civic gsr turbo. would changing the ecu really trick the car into thinking it has no traction control? is there any type ofrewiring i could do, such as splice a wire for the TC with a switch then remapping the ecu when it is off? ecu can be programmed any which way you like given certain perameters. i dont know anything about chevys computer systems.

Yeah i'm pretty sure it is, just not as effective as auto traction control. Ive seen it, it kind of sucks, you cant burnout at all even if u dump the clutch it will lurch then grab and bog down lol. :screwy:
