engine swap queston

ok guys i have an escort se. The year of the car is 2000. I was thinking of making my car faster because its very slow:frown: . Do you guys think that there is a turbocharger or a supercharger for my escort se? If there is a turbo or a super charger can you tell and the website i can find it on?

If there is no turbochargers or superchargers for my car then what should i do with it so i can make it go faster. (List ideas if you want)

I am thinking for about 250 HP:grinyes: on my car or higher. Thanks for reading

dude, the title is right, you either need to swap the engine or swap the car!! an escort with 250 horsepower is not really possible unless you plan on spending A LOT OF MONEY!!!! your escort has the 2.0 in it which has 115 hp, to make your car fast, you might think about advancing the timing one cam gear, getting a high flow intake and exhaust, maybe a cam shaft, you'll get er up to about 130-140 hp depending on what you get, and trust me, on a 2400 lb car 140 hp is plenty

Well you could turbo it. For example jeffescortlx turbo'ed his spi to about 220 whp on a stock engine. But you need to know what you are doing to do that. My advice to you would be to start reading online (its free) about engines and turbo's and how the system works with all the different parts like a intercooler, bov, etc. You also need to know about fuel systems, lean rich, detonation, etc. So once you know all that you could turbo the engine for a relatively cheap price using junkyard parts and since the car is so light having that much power it would really be fun. Also if you think reading won't get you anywhere well then you wouldn't know that taking a 1.9l escort engine and putting a spi head on it would make for an awesome turbo engine. :2cents:
