so this is what happened , i was driving home yesterday doing about 65 long drive all went well but then all of a sudden i noticed , like a bogging down , and my rpms would twitch up just a little bit when it did it ,
i was kinda low on gas i thought my gauge might have been off a little and was runing out of a gas , at this time the problem wasnt too bad , would only happened when i would try to accellerate and raise the rpms , so i got off and got some gas , now i was tryin to see if the problem was still there so i was take off and see if it sloved the problem nope didnt work , okay so back on the road i went
got about another 3 miles and the problem got worse , so i pulled off to check my fluid levels (which were fine)
then i get back in and start it , now the problem has goten worse, it doesnt idle right right , it strugles i would say , and when you put it in drive and strugles against the torque converter and would die , if not die it would idle real bad and when you went to give it gas rpm would raise then drop raise then drop so whatever i had it towed home
when i got home i started to look at it , i pulled my air filter off and would start it , sounded a little better with the idle but still had the issuse , but when i put it back on and started it died imedietly(horrible spelling yesi know bare with me) then would not start , i only tried a couple times cause i cant aford to run my battery dead not at my house with all my tools
now my question lol
what could be causing the problem , or is this a known problem , have never had any kinda issuse
with the truck ,
my thought were maybe bad cat converter or cloged fuel filter my air filter was in good shape that wasnt the issuse
just tryin to get an idea of what you guys think
day 2
so yes , i got a nice day of sunshine , i changed the fuel filter it was cloged no doubt , but now i cant seem to get it to start , i can prime it alittle get it to go but wont continue , i pulled the exit side tube out on the fuel filter and turned the ignition on hoping it would start the pump and fuel would start coming out didnt happen , is this cause there is a break in the loop? or should it pump fuel? or does it have to start ?
just tryin to find a way to check to see if the pump is working without spending 45$
also had my brother crank it over as i watched the injectors... no gas
think i could have burned the pump out by runing withthe cloged filter? or could there be another reason why

If the fuel pump is not running. Check on passenger side firewall for fuel pump fuse and fuel pump relay.
See if the fuel pump relay is working and feeding 12 volts to fuel pump.

ill check it out but should gas have been coming out of the exit line of the filter ? with the key ignition turned on?

The fuel pump only runs for a 30 second prime with key on engine off.
And then with engine cranking or engine running.
You should have 9-13 lbs of fuel pressure when the fuel pump is running.
Can you hear fuel pump running or is it getting 12 volts power to fuel pump?
