Believe it or not, I've never built a Ferrari kit! I'm a convert from building armor/aircraft mods to GT racing kits and now street conversions thanks to you bas*ards at the AMF! I CURSE YOU ALL FOR GETTING ME ADDICTED TO CUSTOMZING CAR KITS!!! :D
Anyways...... I have now added to my workbench a 360 Modena with the Renaissance JMB Racing transkit and a Fujimi 348 Challenge which looks awesome with the Modena wheels on a lowered front end. The thing is, I haven't found a FERRARI RED that looks good!
Here's what I've tried:
Tamiya Acrylic Enamel.....too red
Tamya Ts-8 Italian Red Spray...just as red
Model Master Italian Red Enamel...too orange
Model Master Guards Red Acrylic....too dark/red
Testors Enamel 1103...too dark/red
Humbrol....haven't tried
Gunze...N/A
What do you guys use? Is there a "secret mix formula?" I'd rather not mix paints but would prefer Tamiya if I had to... JMB Blue and Green mix are Tamiya.

KITS NOW UNDER CONSTRUCTION:
Celica GTRS "LuBak version"/Castrol Supra Hybrid racing conversion
JMB RACING 360 MODENA W RENAISSANCE TRANSKIT
check out the 1/18 conv at http://www.mhbmodelisme.com/MHB2.htm
FUJIMI 348 CHALLENGE custom decals already to go...
NISSAN 350Z CHALLENGE RACING CONVERSION
Plus one more (I build in fives ...save cleaning my airbrush!)
KITS RESEARCHING
Fujitsubo R34...hoping for a Tamiya R35 kit soon, S27 decals on their way!
Still working on my website...hopefully soon!

did u spray Tamiya Red over gray primer? It's prolly too red cuz the background was too light... with gray primer it'll look pretty convincing... :)
Don't bother with Testors... from my ship modeling experience, Testors spray paint will give u sandpaper texture... not even orange peel... it's like.... i could probably cut myself from touching the surface... [Hull Red, btw]

Never gave too much thought about this - from what I can infer from others posts, there are dozens of Ferrari reds. To me, it's like the equivalent of olive drab in armor- there are so many different opinions that I just stick with whatever I'm pleased with.
