the other day while i was at work, this guy i work with started asking me what the point in putting my exhaust on was. he was like, "what's the point on spending money to put a muffler on that makes the car sound like the old muffler i broken?" i tried to explain to him the diffrences, but as i was beggining to, some of our fellow workers started catching on to the conversation and giving me shit about my car. they were like "if you're gonna pimp out a car, why don't you get something worth pimping out, like a mustang or a camaro?" then one guy said i should just buy a truck. a fucking truck!?!?! and not the ones you drop, he wants me to get like an 85 chevy and jack it up. what the fuck?!?!

Tell them you want to race after work? ...wait what do you have done to your civic first :D

Sounds like a bunch of morons!

Tell that one jerk-off he should get his hearing checked. A broken muffler or no muffler sounds completely different than an exhasut!

I think civic is weak except for highly moded one. Lets face it, civic is a 4 cycl family car with just about 140 HP. IMHO. For those guys who picked on you, screw them. That is just disrespectin'. Lates.:smoka:

umm because there gay ........how can they say get something "worth" pimping out when it is weird to see those cars make it too 150,000 miles ....when i have seen many honda's with over 300,000 miles on them ....tell them you would rather put money into buying performance shit instead of repairing them

MOST Civics are family cars. However, get behind the wheel of a DOHC Si, or Type-R (if you find yourself blessed with the opportunity) and you'll quickly change your mind. And I'm talking stock here!

If you want power or muscle, go for a mustang or camaro like they said. A stock camaro will toast a stock civic. If you add the same mods, they camaro will still claim ownage. They're right, if you want a fast car, go with something like they said. If you want a cute little commuter car that can be sort of fast after tons of money, get a honda.

A civic is a good starter car and someone who can make one fast will have way more respect than someome with a 5.0L already under the hood. But yea I also see Honda running short somewhere: why make an expensive and fast car that saves you gas money, if you already pay so much for the car I'm sure you can afford to feed it. Look at the S2000, beautiful car but screw it, for the same price get something faster and cheaper, and that handles just as good. It doesn't make sense.

I completely agree that most Civics are econoboxes that aren't made for going fast. They are made to be practical, save gas, and lower emmisions. (Why do you think I bought one?) However, you CAN'T say this about HONDAS, in general. It is too broad of a comment. Even if you were going to say that about Civics, you'd have to take into consideration that some Civic models actually DO go fast (i.e. Si). And if it wasn't because of Honda's commitment to making cleaner, efficient cars with good HP-per-Liter engines, we would end up with muscle-power cars by Honda (yeah, right!). Speaking of which, does anyone know if we will ever end up seeing the 200HP Civic Type-R here in America... anyone care to shed some light on why they haven't done it already??
About the S2000, I guess it's true that it IS expensive... but think of the money you'll save on gas! (A 2.0 liter, 240HP engine is not an easy feat to accomplish!!)
-Happy racing!

I read in a magazine that the CTR is suppose to come to the US I believe late this year. Something about competing with the other cars....
I guess the Mp3, WRX, RSX TypeS, SER, $hit like that!

Hey thanks, LX98Civic....
Question for everyone: would you go for a CTR, or an RSX-S? (I don't know if bringing in the ITR is in the works). Nonetheless, since they basically have the same engine, which one would you choose? I guess you'd have to take into consideration other stuff, like cost, availability, etc. But still, let us know!

No Questions asked: CTR!!!

They're rare and I love the Civic. Well, if they come over you can scratch the rare part  :bloated:

I would much rather have the CTR over the RSX-S. I read that all of the CTR are being manufactured in a Honda plant in Great Britian. But, I would love to get my hands on an ITR. My friend's sister has one down in Miami. BTW, the CTR and ITR do not have the same engine. Compression is higher in the ITR.

before i reply....don't think i'm saying what i'm saying because i have a camaro. I like Honda's....actually i 'm selling my Z28 to buy a honda civic. Now....i know many H-car freaks don't like domestics.....especially mustangs and camaros....but my car is fast as hell. Yes it's low tech, and yes a Honda makes more hp/L.

Anyways, it's not weird to see a camaro of mustang make it to 150k, that is a myth, it probably exists because most mustangs and camaros are beat on constantly, because they are a lot of fun to drive the snot out of. if you drive the snot out of a honda it will not make it to 300k. The 5.0l ford motor is a great motor and it will run forever if you take care of it. the 5.7l chevy is the same way. WTF i don't know why you guys hate on domestics.

Oh....tell them to stop humping their cousin...cause they sound like ignorant rednecks.

no way....get a hatchback civic, drop in a b20z...turbo it and your stomping everything on the road. and you will still get better gas mileage than a camaro. trust me. i think an excursion get better mileage than i do.

I know the CTR and the ITR do not have the same engine. I was refering to the CTR and the RSX-S engines. The question was not whether you prefer the CTR or the ITR, it was whether you prefer the CTR or the RSX-S. Apparently I was misunderstood. I simply mentioned the ITR to indicate that I didn't know if it was coming to the US (the new one, I mean).

Well, let's hear it... CTR or RSX-S??

I get that too at work, especially when I wear my Honda polo shirts. They basically shutup when I show them all my autocross trophies and history in racing :)

Two guys with Corvette Z06s have many times made fun how fast their car is compared to my Civic, but then I invited them to the autocrosses which are right in their backyard and 40 minutes from me, and of course they don't show. When I ask them where they were - they always make excuses.
