Saturn plans to launch its roadster, the Sky, this spring as a 2007 model. There's just one issue: "All available production for 2006 is accounted for. In other words, sold out," Lutz said [at the New York Auto Show recently].

Hell yeah, so does this mean it's selling better than the also sporty and same frame Pontiac Soltice?

if i recall correctly, the SKY is limited to 10,000 units, the soltice is limited to 20,000. i assume they will bump up the numbers next year seeing its all of two months into sales or so.

So I went to Don Pablos for dinner the other night. Had dinner, paid the bill, and walked out of the door around 9:00 PM. I head back to the Jeep and a few parking spots away is a small two-seater convertible. It looks just like the same little GM convertible that I have seen driving around, but this one had something different about it. I pulled out of my parking spot and looped around to attempt to figure out if it was a Pontiac Soltice or the Saturn Sky. As I got closer it was obvisou that there was a Redline emblem on the little car indicating it was definitely the Saturn. There were a few other things I noticed as well. The most obvious was that it had a twin parked one spot over. Another thing I found interesting was that they both had Michigan "Manufacturer" plates on them. Then I saw it, the "Turbo" badges. That is when I really started to take a closer look at them. They some really nice body lines, a sweet ground effects package, and were just gorgeous!
Of course I came home, jumped on the net and looked at the Saturn website to get some information on them. That is when I learned they are not even available yet. The Sky Redline is listed on the website as a "Future Vehicle." It also shows that they have a 260 ho turbocahrged motor in a tiny little roadster with some serious suspension.
Now I have to wait though... I am not a big GM fan by any means, but I want a test drive!

I can tell you that the cars were gorgeous. They obvisouly resemble the current Sky, but they have a much more aggressive look to them.
They were nice. I would have loved to have had my camera with me.

Please!!! You were DROOLING over these! I've never seen you so excited about something that was NOT Jeep-related!

Got my Sky Red Line order in. Not that anyone cares, but ordered on Monday and my delivery is in February. This may help some people guesstimate how long the wait is currently.
