97 ford escort/ 99 zx2 engine/trany swap

hey. I have a 1997 ford escort lx 2 l sohc and an auto transmission. The transmission is on the way out of this car. I have bought a 1999 escort zx2 and was thinking of swaping the engine and trany to my 1997. The zx2 has major front end damage but the engine and trany are mint. Can this be done??? if so does any one know what will have to be done in order to do this, such as ecm ,wire harness changes , ect. thanks
