Hello everyone: My Taurus apparently needs a new speed sensor but I can't locate it. I replaced one on a 1995 but this 2000 model isn't on the same place. My whole problem is this: Sometimes and only sometimes car will not shift at all no matter how I push the gas pedal, I noticed that only after all doors lock down that I see speedometer needle start moving and trans begins to shift. If speedometer needle dosen't move trans won't shift. My doors won't lock down immediately I have to run it for about a quarter of a block. Does anyone have a website with a picture to find speed sensor? I thank you all in advance. Vic-Vic

I have the procedure for replacing the turbine shaft speed (TSS) sensor and the output shaft speed (OSS) sensor, but the procedure may be slightly different depending on the engine and transmission that you have. Do you know which transmission you have as well as the engine in your car (12V, 24V, 32V)?

If so, and you private message me with your e-mail address, I will send the appropriate PDF files your way.

The files are fairly small. If you'd like me to e-mail them all to you, I can do that.
