Hey i live in Miami and a few mechanics have told me that because my extreme heat it is good to run 20-50 oil.
My engine was rebuiilt and now is approachin 30k.
My question is if later(in 6 months) When she is not my street car, if i can switch to thinner oil...Like 10-40 or 10-30 synthetic....

Depends on what kinda of conditions you plan on running it in.

Conditions? You mean weather?
I live in Miami and it is hot as shit.
If your refering to how i drive it: right now soft i dont waste gas racing assholes who drive civics... Later i plan to make a fast cruiser...Spray it change cam and maybe get a few track runs, but it is not going be strictly a track car

I know it gets hot.

I was thinking more of how you plan on driving it once it is more of a weekend warrior.
It can get very warm here as well. I still run Mobil 1 5w-30 in both my cars.

You may want to check some LT1 boards and see what guys are running in theirs at hot climates.

Man it ended up being an exhaust leak...the gasket was gone. 20 dollars, a little knuckle bleed and the problem was gone. Im so glad. Also my sister was down for the weekend and her husband(previous owner) told me that the starting problems were coming from the spark plugs. Im changing them this week.
Thanx for the site.
