Hey everyone, im about to turn 19 in a couple months, and i want to get myself something cool for my birthday. Im between getting another honda project car or a motorcycle. I have my motorcycle license (got it when i was 17) but have only ridden a few times.
I want a 'naked' bike (without front fairings)
I want a V-twin ~600cc's
I want undertail exhaust
I want to be comfortable (im 6'2", mostly legs)
I just want something fun and good on gas (its over 3 bucks a gallon for 91 here in socal) since im gonna be going to school again soon.
Thanks for your help, and i know you get a bunch of these threads, but i think mine is a little different than the rest.

Probably the SV650S or the new Ninja 650R is gonna be your best bet. Neither has the undertail exhaust but the Ninja does have it incorporated in the fairings.. I think it looks better than undertail.
Edit: I missed the naked part. The SV650/S is naked, the ninja is not.

what years were the Suzukis fuel injected? I think i want a fuel injected bike, i dont know much about carb's but i do know that fuel injection gives better throttle response and gas mileage (in cars anyway) is there a reason to pick one over the other in motorcycles? Im obviously not looking for a competition bike, but i want one thats easy to ride.
I definatly like the 650S a lot more than the regular (not diggin the front light)

Its not a v-twin, but it looks really really hot! I like the undertail exhaust too.

I'd say if that thing had lower fairings I'd be checking it out myself.

the only thing i would do to it is get a block hugger (i dunno if they make these for bikes) header, and get it powdercoated the same color as the frame.
the swing arm looks a little cookie cutter to me too, but i can live with it, or put a R6 swingarm on (i dont know if you can do that, but it would look a lot better, and mabye shorten the wheelbase and lighten the bike)
it would look (and perform better i think) with the shocks inverted too.
and id find some way to run that brake line behind the R6 swing arm.
i wish i knew someone out in Indiana

The FZ6 is a good bike. The motor is basically a retuned R6 engine, so it has plenty of power. IMO, the SV is a better deal and more fun. The VTwin motor is awesome, and it is just a blast to ride. That is just my opinion though. It sounds to be like you're more stuck on the looks then anything.
