Hey I'm new.

Hey,
Im to modifying cars so yeah i get a couple quick questions. Okay i have a 2001 grand am that is automatic. I heard of a thing called a whole shot converter for it that would help improve it so i looked it up and it talked about a stall speed converter so is that the same thing and can u get one for a 01 grand am? Cuz i looked all over the internet and i cant find one or am i just totally off. Also do u have any recommendations for what else i should get. Im more into like drag racing and yeah. Any suggestions are helpful. thanks.

Welcome to AF!!

A hole shot convertor is just one with a higher stall speed that allows the car to launch at a higher engine speed. Other mods you will want are headers, cold air intake, free flow mufflers. Also if you are serious depending on the engine you have you may want to look at a new cam/cams and a reprogrammed engine computer.

Only if you intend to do a lot of drag racing. They can be a little tempermental on the street especially if there is too high a stall speed.
