Ideally a 400 ci motor's displacement is 6.6 liters, but n/a motors average about 80% of this, depending on factors such as restrictions in the intake, throttle body, air filter, air box etc.

The Trans Am I have HAD a 5.7L (346ci) motor in it until I decided that wasn't big enough.

4.6L is a Mustang motor. :uhoh:

Nope.
They have 4.6's.
2003/2004 Cobras had superchargers.

Displacement can only be changed by altering the bore and/or stroke of an engine. Any 400 cu in engine will be 6.6 liters, for instance. There are roughly 16.5 Cubic Centimeters per cubic inch.

400 Cubic Inches times 16.5 = 6600 Cubic Centimeters (6.6 liters).

455 = 7.5 liters.

It's piston displacement... Basically, take the volume inside a cylinder at bottom-dead-center(not including the combustion chamber of the head), multiply that by the number of pistons, and voila... engine displacement.

Or in mathematical terms:

(pi x radius of cylinder bore) squared

multiplied by the stroke of the piston

multiplied by the number of pistons.
