My 1998 Bravada is averaging 16-17 MPG.
What can I do to increase MPG?
Here is the list of things I have done to increase MPG, I was getting 13MPG
New O2 Sensors All three.
Tire presure 32PSI.
Air Filter.
Fuild changed in the front and rear Diffs.
Fluid changed in the Transfer case.
Would running different oil and/or fuilds help?
Using standard fuilds no additives.
Would different tires help?
What type/MFR The current tires are oversize by 3% 235/75-15 should be 235-70/15.

Looks like you've done some good work and made a substantial improvement to your fuel economy already. There might be a tiny bit of improvement by changing the sparkplugs if you haven't already done that the last 30,000 miles.
The next improvement will be the hardest, most difficult procedure I've ever encountered...drop your speed by 5 mph.

Chris is right on. here's a link to an article i wrote for one of the local fish wraps on the subject of fuel costs.

I been pretty light on the foot and been trying to learn the shift prattern of the transmission to keep the rpms down.
I was hoping to get around 20 mpg. The 16-17 is short trips 3-4 miles.
Should do a long run to check the highway mpg's.
If the fan was replace with an electric unit would this help the mpgs? I heard someone say they got about 2 mpg better with the electric fan. I can picture this helping the fan is large and has 8 blades.

i considerd going with an electric fan, just never got around to it. there is a link on the blazed forum for converting a taurus fan to the 4.3. also check out this link:

on short trips like that i don't think you'll get much better mileage, i get about 22 on long freeway drives but average between 17 and 18 in normal driving.
