It is under the instrument panel , neer the steering column.
disconnect the negative battery cable,, make sure the theft lock is turned off on the radio,,if it was enabled.

so thats where you hook the jet chip? is it pretty far up underneath? and about the theft lock, what is that exactly? because i have an aftermarket head unit so does that mean its automatically turned off? is it different than the pass-lock thing? thanks

I know nothing about the jet chip or where it goes. Is the jet chip a replacement chip for the one in the PCM ( computer ) or does it plug into the ALDL connector ?
What is the " head " ?
theft lock is for the factory radio, if it is activated on the radio at the time that the battery is disconnected. The radio will lock out, thinking it has been stolen. You have to enter a password or you can not use it again.

You have to remove the hush panel below the steering column, the PCM should be to the left of the ALDL (ASSEMBLY LINE DIAG LINK ) the link you connect the scan tool to.

i'm not sure if it helps but i have a 2001, and my radio does not have that code thing once you disconect the battery, but i'm looking for the engine computer which directly connects to the engine i'm not talking about the OBD-II connector which is also under the dash, and the jet chip does not replace anything but it plugs into the engine computer and then the wiring harness for the engine plugs into the jet chip so its kinda between the enging and the engine computer...

you dont need to hook it up directly to the computer, just hook the tps wire to the throttle position sensor, and then you have to splice into the middle wre of the MAP sensor, right by the upper intake manifold. its a tight sqweeze.
