You have to purchase the wiring harness and plug it into your truck.

A search should come up with a bunch of info on this. On the 1998+ the factory plug in for a trailer harness is behind the left side plastic body panel in the rear cargo area. It's tucked behind the jack compartment. You have to yank the plastic panel out enough to find the plug/pigtale coiled & taped in there. Undo it & route it thru one of the holes in the jack compartment so you can get at it when you need it. Oh yeah.. like ramblin says, you have to buy a harness to plug into the factory plug.

Ryan, I found the 'Hoppy' brand harness on E-bay for $15 including shipping for what it's worth, in case you want to add that to the FAQ notes on this.

The cheapest place I found them online was from Automotive Accessories Connection (http://www.autoaccessconnect.com/ax20tawiha.html) They are $25 + shipping. When I bought mine even the ones on ebay were $35-40. Just another option in case one cant be found on ebay cheaper.

Every once in a while a good deal on these harnesses comes up....check out this E-Bay listing that has ended....8044809271. Total cost was under $6.00 with shipping. It was a one-off sale from someone who must not have needed it anymore. But it pays to keep an eye out.
