Above back windshield

I know this is not technical terms, but the plastic area above the back window (the thing that has the center-mount brake lamp in it) is all messed up. It is tilted forward at the top and looks awful. When you open the tailgate, the plastic thing gets stuck on the roof of the car and makes a crunching sound - then the tailgate won't finish opening and you have to push it up. Is there a way to remount this piece, or should I go to the dealer (it's still under warranty.) I don't think this could happen to a regular wheelbase trailblazer, just an ext.

Yep, the Plane-Jane shorty TB's have that rear glass valance as well. It's attached with torx head bolts to metal brackets that appear to be bonded to the rear glass. It looks like once you remove the 4 torx heads, the rear valance will pull right off. You might be able to bend the metal brackets back into shape.

The dealer did fix it free of charge, under the warranty, but it did take some pushing them. They said it wouldn't be covered because I didn't have the original piece, as it blew off when I was driving. And when I took it in to actually have it repaired, I was out of the regular warranty period (but they had already ordered the part from a previous visit). With a little pushing, they did it as a warranty repair.
