1997 Sunfire Wiring Question

We have just about finished repairing the wiring harness of a Sunfire we're working on but have two "extra" connectors that we can't find a place for.:banghead:

First is a smaller two wire connector that is red in color with a green/white stripe wire and a pink wire.

Second is a slightly smaller two wire connector that is black in color with a purple and yellow wire.

Both connecotrs are located between the radiator and the engine.

The car will turn over, but will not start.

Thanks, I've looked for quite some time and can't find a location for these to plug into and the wiring diagrams I have aren't helping.

I looked hard on my scematic I think but not sure the black connector goes to the Ignition control modual and the red one to the transmition

Sorry, I forgot to post the engine/trans info.
It's a 2.4L with auto trans. VIN 4G2JB32T7VB207331

The red connector is near the alternator and the black connector is at the rear of the engine near the trans & starter.

this took some searching but I belive the one connector goes to the crankshaft position sensor near oil filter

The other I belive goes to the nuetral safty switch on trans near the back

Let me know if this fixes it I'm real interested

I was finally able to work on this unit today. The black connector plugged into the sensor above the oil filter. I thought I had searched there but evidently I missed it. The red connector (located near the alternator) has about a 6-8 inches long pair of wires on it, of which I haven't located where they go. I was able to crank the car and drive it. I do however now have a new light on the panel that says the water in the radiator is low so hopefully the connector goes somewhere on the radiator as a "level" sensor.

We had to pull the harness off and test it as the original problem was that the transmission wouldn't shift out of first gear. When I took the car to the dealership, they tested the car and said that it was a wiring problem and wanted me to front about $400 for them to chase the problem out and locate it. The car runs now but we still have the non-shifting transmission. The harness checked okay so after we finish putting all the plugs back on, I'm going to pull the electronics out of the trans to see if I can locate the trouble.
