2000 Echo wind noise at driver window

Can this be fixed, the original owner said it has always been there.

I experiences the same with my 2003 Echo 2 door. I own this car since new, and this problem began to surface last year. Especially when driving in the rain, it sounded like rain was coming in thru the driver side door that made constantly looking over my shoulder to check, but it did not. I tried to slam shut the door a bit harder one time thinking this might be the cure, but it made no difference. Since it is not leaking , I just ignore it for now. Recently my driver side door occassionally will squeak when even shut. I guess the driver side door sees the most work out, and suffers more wear and tear than the other door(s). Is yours 2 door or 4 door?
