1987 Vet convertible; There are speaker grills in the dash but no sound. Are speakers in there? If so why arn"t they working?? Aso what can I get to replace the AM FM cassett with a AM FM cd player and use the existing speakers? One of you young people must have some experience with this. John McCracken

I replaced the am-fm cassete in my 85 with a cd. You can get an adapter that allows you to hook up to the original Bose system and use the original wiring. Got mine at Boomers. Its all pretty simple. Walmart here in CT also carrys a wining adapter. all you do is splice the wires. This is assuming your original Bose speakers still work. If not you can by replacements from one of the aftermark catalogs like Ecklors, Midamerica, etc or install aftermarket speakers and rewire.
