16's because the gears, maybe high 15's. depending on your mileage and loss of power simply to being an old motor id say your still in the 170 range. Torque....who knows.... 230 ish

sorry but not likely imo. But hey if you prove me wrong let me know. :) My 89 had the same motor with the same mods minus the 3.73's which do make a huge difference but not that much. high 15's to 16's. The motors have a good bit of torque relative to horsepower but its just enough to get the 3500 pounds moving.

go find a granprix gtp to race and see if you beat him. They run very consistant low 15's stock to slightly modified(air filters and exhaust) (saw them at the track tonight).

yea that's the numbers it came with stock except you underestimated on the torque side by about 25. You get the headers, converter, and someone who knows how to tune a tbi setup and you'll see 14's all day long, assuming you got positive traction when you swaped to 3.73.

Add just headers to you set up now and you'll be smoking stock 3.8's, in the 8th mile at least.

Closest 1/4 mile track is about two hours away and I haven't been there yet. I just started into tuning a little while back and I'm getting some good results, but my damn schooling is making things go really really slow. I hope to get out to a local 1/8 track here in a couple weeks after finals.

I'll do it, just wish I had some 3.73's and a posi. Right now I'm one wheel spinin' my way through first and chirping second, damn peg leg.

when I still had the 305 in, It ran a best of 16.7 with K&N, Hypertech, and Flowmaster 3" cat-back and 2.73 gears. With your setup, I predict a 15.5-15.7

I ran a 14.7 but I might as well of had no first gear because I spun so much.(partly my fault) I suspect his mods only make up for the power loss due to age. The 3.73's will help though.

in stock form at least.

16.7?? That is very very slow even for a 305. The average is high mid 15's and some low 16s stock. The fastest stock l03 I've seen was a 15.3 in the quarter with a 5 speed. Full exaust, tune, gears and posi gets an l03 in good condition into the very high 14's

must be an elevation thing then, cuz high 16, low 17 is the norm for it here.

and 305 in tpi is different than a tbi. The motor will respond to normal small block mods but as his motor is now it wont put down too much. All is has is a gob of torque.....because tbi was designed for trucks..... But I realize that many guys have tuned the crap out of those tbi motors and get amazing results. All I know is that there was a v6 ford escape that I was just trying to get around in traffic from a roll and I couldnt(he was being a butt hole) ....and then the minivan......probably had something to do with the trans that had 144000 miles on it but hey...
