How many miles can you expect out of an american V6?

And I'm talking about the 3.8L V6 used in the Pontiac Firebird (Years 1998-2002).
I've googled it and can't find any common problems with that specific engine. I'm assuming it's reliability is average (if not on the good side). So how many miles is a typical V6 able to take?

Given the wide range of years and how much the build quality drifts from shift to shift, its hard to say. Factor in the driver's right foot, the kind of oil change intervals they use, the climate... its a tough one. Anywhere from 60k to 300k? For the most part they are a 150k engine, but I've only owned two.

I have a buick with a 3800, rolled over 150,000 this morning and dont have any problems out of it. Still runs strong, doest burn oil or anything, outlived the transmission.

(said in Dr. Evils voice) one MIIILLION miles!
Seriously, well maintained, most V6's will last 300K+ miles. But with such a generic question (there's more than a couple domestic V6s out there yah know) its hard to offer any more detailed answer...but that is pretty much a reasonable answer for any modern engine. Most are very good these days....in general.
