98 suburban - power locks and interior lights

my power locks work fine except the drivers door will not lock or unlock with the power locks. any ideas where i should start looking?

also my interior lights will not come on when the door is open regards of where the interior light switch is positioned.

can these be related?

Check for power at the door lock actuator when you cycle the switch, if you have power and ground replace the actuator. Interior door lights can take a little longer, do the light come on when any of the doors are opened? Check fuses, could very well be a bad multifunction headlamp switch.
