erratic idle and stalling

i recently acquired a 99 firebird 3.8 5 speed. runs very well. it frequently dies when coming to a stop or turning a corner. it does restart but seems to have a flooding condition as there is a smell of fuel after restarting for a moment.
anyone have any ideas. thanks

OK i have a V8, but i had the same exact problem and it took a few things to fix it. First of all check your EGR and solenoid that is what commonly causes it. If you replace that and it still shuts down on you, take it to pepboys and this part sucks but they have to put it on the computer and what happen to me was that i had a few leaks.
After my car ran perfect.
