2000 Z-71 stalling/starting

Hello!! I have a couple questions. I was driving down the interstate today and came upon a traffic jam. While creeping along, it stalled out on me a few times. When I re-started, it started up fine. When we finally got going again, the truck was fine. Any thoughts?? I ocassionally have a problem with it when I try to start it, the ignition doesn't turn right over. I have to try a few times before it will turn over. Any thoughts on these two topics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Mabey its the alternator, or the battery. I'd take it to a local shop and get them both tested
If it goes further than that, mabet a clogged fuel pump

On the stalling problem it could be that your Idle Air Control Valve is getting sticky and may need to be cleaned or replaced. On the other problem what do you mean by the ignition doesn't turn over, you mean that the starter will not turn over, if so you could have a bad connection at the battery or the starter, the windings in the starter could have a dead spot and the starter may need replaced.

What I mean is not to long ago as soon as I turned the key it would fire up. Now when I turn the key it wines for a few seconds or sometimes takes several tries before it will finally turn over. Sorry about the wording its the onlyway I know how to explain it.

So the engine won't turn over the first time you turn the key? If so check the stuff I told you above, If you mean that it is slow to turn over then also could be the problems that I posted above. If you mean that it cranks over and over again before it starts then it could be a few different things. If you think the second is your problem then post back and we will go in to that.

Yeah it sounds more like the second one it cranks over and over now it doesn't do this all the time but it has been doing it a lot lately don't know if this would have anything to do with it but the gas pedal is sticking really bad all of the sudden also. I about smoke the tires to take off. All these things just started happing at once . Thanks for the help it very apprecaited.
