4g63t 1g swap

My friend is looking at buying a 93-94 1 g base model eclipse and swapping in a 4g63t 6 bolt motor. The motor is out of an auto car. The eclipse is a stick. Here is a rundown of the budget so far:

1g shell: $250
Motor, turbo, ECU: $300
Harness: $50

He is only looking to spend about $1200 at most. He hasn't been able to find any turbo cars locally for that price, and he wants to do a swap because the whole point of this is a project car. So, what all is needed for this swap other than the motor, ECU, turbo, and harness?? The motor is out of an auto car, and I think i read somewhere that there is some differences between the auto and manual motor in terms of things like fuel injectors and ECU (i think). can he run all of the auto stuff on the motor, but run the 5 speed that is in the car and upgrade it to 5speed spec later, or does he need to find all of the 5speed stuff and install it before putting the motor in? Will the stock 5 speed out off the base sohc motor bolt up to the turbo motor??

thanx for any help!

ok couple of things the Shift cables clutch pedel master/slave cylinders are all the same you might have a problem with the axles...they are more than lilkley diffrent...

on an auto 1g.. they have smaller injectors also a smaller turbo (13b). personally id go ahead and do the standard swap now its easy and wont take long... here are the steps

www.vfaq.com... its under drive train...

hope it helps

Do you have those parts already? Because theres no way you will find them that cheap. A EPROM ecu alone will cost you at very least $150, then plan on around a grand atleast for a decent engine, then $200-$350 for a good tranny. A shell in decent shape is going to run you more than $250, a decent one should run you atleast $500. Then cant forget about all that little shit that wont be on the long block like an intercooler, bov, hoses, radiator and fans, intake, exhaust, engine mounts, intake and exhaust manifolds if they arent already on the engine, turbo fuel pump, the turbo itself and the associated lines, the list keeps on going. You'll have WAY more that $1200 in engine/drivetrain parts alone. Then you have to worry about getting the 6 bolt into the 93-94 because the 93-94's came with 7 bolts. Sorry bro, never going to happen. Get a junker to fix. I got my 90 TSI AWD for <$1000 and if I were to fix its problems (AC belt, head gasket, front brakes) with stock stuff, I would have a decent running car for much less that $1200. However, I do know where you can get really clean red 92 AWD shell for cheap ($500 obo, the body/interior is clean as hell, EPROM ecu, but the only drive train it has is the 4 bolt rear, shitty rims, and not the best of suspension) in Northern MN.

umm costed me 450 to do my totall standard swap and you can pick that misc crap off from someone parting out there car for about another 100...and why use an eprom...to start out with...get it later..get the car running first then worry about upgrades.....

the thing is we already have a car lined up for $250, a motor/ecu/turbo combo for $300. The main thing I need to find is wiring harness. does anyone know where i can find a wiring harness(new or used, don't matter)?

thanx!
