Stupid emissions

I bought a 92 G20 yesterday. Its a 5 speed, with 144k on the body and less than 50k on the JDM SR20DE. The guy I bought it from had just swapped the engine and it runs good. I went to do the emissions test because my tabs are expired and it failed. :banghead: My CO emissions were too high. The limit is 1.1% and mine were 2.03%. I am not happy. I hope i didnt get screwed, the guy seemed kinda shady, but the car was in pretty good shape(besides being dirty). Anyone have any ideas? I'd rather not take it to a shop if I dont have to, but i have to get this thing licensed asap. Thanks in advance.
