so last night......

i was crusiing around checking out cars and theres a fire station with a white 3000gt ..not sure if its and sl or a vr4 but i passed by it and got a quick look ... pretty much the only one in my area ive ever seen UNTIL ... i pass by this blockbuster and my jaw drops... i quickly turn around and pull in next to this nice shiny red 3000gt.. the guys talkin to his girlfriend so i give a small honk to get his attention and tell him nice car and asked sl or vr4 .. he says
SL but its beatin up vr4's
so i have to ask how muc hp and he replys close to 400 so im like whoa
i duno .. then im like ya defvinatly my favorite car and im tryin to get one and he says ya its for sale... (dum me didnt see the sign on the back window) i say wow how much he says 5500 and im like whoa he also shows me his dvd player and moniters in his visors ... im like wait wait wait .... 5500 for 400hp sl with dvd player and all this .. i have to call bs .. but i dont and just tell him well beautiful car again and ill let u go and he says alrite seeya he revs and reverses and i follow him out of the lot and we get next to eacother at a light and he revs and all and he says im not wastin my time raceing and im like oo trust me it wouldnt be a race dont waste your time anad then we both launch and he blows me out and he slows down to see my reaction which is basically my tounge hangin out and i say ya tats nice ill see you later and he goes yup cya and takes off and does a turnaround ....
it was a very nice clean car the only thing i didnt like was his muffler came from a supra its was just one big 3'' instead of the dual

that was some fun i still want one extremly bad.... but we'll see

Did it sound like he had a TT conversion? That low price for a 3kgt of that proportion makes me a little suspicious though.

^ yeap, def. agreed. Also, I guess he converted his system to a single exhaust, which in my opinoin either sayys yea okay, or it's a SOHC and he lied to you... but either way, look for him again and see what's going on wiht the car mang

3000GT's where never single exhaust. And just because hes doesnt have a VR4 doesnt mean its not boosted.

^gotcha, I was under the impression that the SOHC's were single exhaust, and I dind't say anything about it not being boosted, or that it had to be a VR4

ya i definatly agree i think he might have been bullshitting.... but not really sure i only talked to him for like 5 minutes or so although it was extremely fast off the light not 225 hp type but more so .....not sure
i regretted not getting his # afterwords i dont have 5500 dollars more like 1200 right now :( ....

agreed but he might have has a supercharger or turbo(didnt sound like it was turbo'd tho) he only shifted like once or twice tho and i didnt even get a good sound of the bov or nothin so i really couldnt tell you

did it have s/c whine or did the motor sound n/a??? if he had a 3" exhaust, it should've been fairly obvious whether or not he was boosted...

Yeah if hes pushing 400hp the boost whether it be a S/c or a t/c could be easely heard. I think the stealth SOHC came in a single exhaust though. In fact there is a kid in town with a DOHC stealth with a single stock exhaust.

see thats the thing i didnt really hear it because he only went through 1or 2 gears didnt hear thewhining from like turbos or anything but the exhaust was nice (not that matters between turbo /sc but im not sure
