HI,
maybe somebody can help me. I would like knowing if van den Goorbergh used during 2002 season a NSR500 '02, a NSR500 '01 or both.
Thanks a lot.

Hi Carbarbe, all the photos I have of VD Goorbergh in '02 show him riding an '02 NSR500. There are also a bunch of pic's on his site, here's the link.

Hi Dave,
I think that too. It should be a '02 NSR500. That's a problem because there is not kit of this version. There are only two options: Studio27 expensive transkit or scratchbuild it :(
Cheers!

Hey carbarbe,

You are correct on both counts, do it yourself or spend some money. I actually modified the S27 kit a few years ago, I wanted a seperate intake with an open duct at the front, plus, in my opinion the fairing and seat cowl did not have the correct shape. I had planned on using what I could from the Ragged Edge decal sheet, the livery is on the simple side, so I figured it wouldn't be too hard. As usual, time and other commitments forced me to set it aside, though you have kind of sparked my interest in it again.

Hey Carbarbe,

Another option would be the '02 Winter Test bike, which is an '01. Just a thought.

Hi Dave,
although we knew van den Goorbergh rode a NSR500 '02, I have received an e-mail from Kanemoto Racing confirming it was. So there is absolutely no doubt about this. Concerning the test motorcycle, I only like building bikes that have been used in GP's. It is an obsession I have :)
So I am like you now. I would like to build the yellow bike, but I do not fancy doing such a transformation. Maybe in the future.
Cheers!
