I just ordered a new Pioneer DEH 3600 for the Cavy (old one broke, POS) and I will be ordering a 10" L7 for the Cavy. Right now, I am running JBL 5.25" components up front, Eclipse 6x9's, broke ass JVC head unit, sony 4 channel (for sale, see below), Pioneer 760w sub amp, and a 10" MTX Thunder 8000 also selling.
FOR SALE:
Sony 444w amp: 44w RMS @ 4 ohms X 4 channels. Works great. No mechanical/functional reason for selling, just selling to reclaim some trunk space and for simplicities sake of rewiring. $50 obo. If you have an offer make it, I just may accept it.
10" MTX Thunder 8000: Dual 4 ohm, 400 RMS 800max. I've had it for about a year and it sounds great, just selling because my amp isnt 2 ohm stable so I had to wire it to an 8 ohm load so its never seen over 190w RMS (thats all my amp can put out at 8 ohms). Again, no functionality reasons for selling, I just need a sub I can wire to a 4 ohm load. $75+shipping obo. Again, if you have an offer make it.

Alpine CD/MP3 Deck CHA-9851 - MP3 WMA & CD-R/W playback detachable face with variable button color 18 watts RMS x 4 Bass Engine XM and SIRIUS Satellite Radio controls 3 sets of preamp outputs changer control wireless remote
Alpine CHA-S634 (Mp3 6 disc changer) (90 bucks on ebay)
PIE AI-Net splitter (60 bucks crutchfiled)
RCA in AI-NET cable for my mp3 player (10 bucks crutchfield)
JL 500/1 AMP (75 bucks craigs list CRAZY DEAL! was brand new.)
JL 10" sub 10w6v1 (150 craigs list from the same dude also new in box)
Mp3 player is an archos 20 gig with a 80 gig hard disk replaced in it mounted into my center console. Power is ran off undersize of cigarette lighter. I ran a control from the mp3 player to my dash (they have a remote thing for it). The only downside is no screen for the mp3 player since it's in the console. SO I use the head unit instead.
All speakers are alpine type S except my front small dashs which are still stock. And I still have the infinity amp under the front seat.
My sub box is actually a mount just to hold the sub pointing forward in under my convertible top. It works just fine and I can't tell the difference from my friends 10w6 that he has in a sealed box. But maybe thats just me.
It can thump :)

Are you fucking kidding me? Have you ever used it? Obviously your problem didn't occur where you installed the dynamat if you have used it before, the shit solves ALL my rattling problems.

Believe me, you have rattling problems. ;) I am running a 10" MTX with 190w RMS and it rattles shit. You may not notice it now, but your sound will be much cleaner after you dynamat it. Its heavy shit though, I wouldnt use it if you are after any amount of speed.

does the cap help much? my lights dim a bit when mine hit on my old spyder.
I didn't have rattle on my old spyder and I had no dynamat. I tightened the trunk lid spring things, Had it under the top and made sure that I put weather stripping under the box and then screwed it down into the body of the car in existing holes. It worked fine for me. I ran it about 3 months before the accident and lost it.

Dynamat is a waste of time? Are you serious. Dynamat is good shit. I have about 2 sheets of original and 2 sheets of extreme in my car. My stuff is mounted in my trunk so you can imagine how bad that would sound on a convertable. Before I did it all you could hear was distortion. But now, it sounds to me about as good as you can get with a drop top. Definately not a waste of time.

dynamat is essential. I got a simple setup. Two sealed old school rockford fosgates with an old school rockford fosgate amp. I've had the system for about 4 years now, no problems, except I punched a whole in the cone the other day, I'm going to have to upgrade soon enough, even though they still sound fine.
