My work

I don't usually post things in Stress Release because I can usually handle them on my own, but I think there are too many things going on right now in my life to handle it all on my own, and none of my close friends seem to be "available".
So I work at a small call center that has about 50 employees. I work in the technical support department with 3 other people. Even though officially I'm not over any of them, I'm the most experienced (even though I'm the youngest, 19) so basically when shit happens, everyone blames it on me and holds me responsible. I don't work full time, but pretty close, usually 30+ hours a week. This is on top of being a full time student.
In February of this year everything was going great, so I decided to treat myself to a nice car, as a reward for all my hard work. I bought a Honda S2000. I have a 5-year loan, but the way I've been making my payments, I'll have it payed off in 2 years. But unfortunately that was 2 months ago.
About 3 weeks ago we had a planned upgrade of our entire domain and email server from Server 2000 to Server 2003 and went with Exchange 2003 as well. I would say that overall everything went OK, I mean there were issues, but that is to be expected after a major system overhaul like the one which we did. The problem was that all the other 3 fucking idiots that I work with basically decided to take a vacation and left me by myself to deal with the people. There were simply too many things going on for one person to deal with at the same time. There were like 5 different things that needed to get working. Well, since I was all on my own, I could only do like one thing at a time. Well, the bosses didn't like that there were a lot of things that weren't working (very understandable), but instead of calling the fucking idiots to come in when they're scheduled, they instead decided to get a 3rd party involved to evaluate what was going on. Well he came to the conclusion that we had a lot of problems. Yeah, well any fucking idiot off the street could have told me that, dumbass. About a week later with some help we got almost everything working. There are still a few very minor issues still coming up, but I can handle everything pretty much on my own.
Now here is the worst part. I'm trying to make a very small change, I mean tiny. But now they basically don't want me to do anything, even though it will only fix something. I suppose that is understandle, but here is the worst part.
Basically now my job sucks because of the 3 other fucking idiots, because they weren't here to give me any support. Now I can't do anything because of them. It seems like there is nobody that understands me, and I get everything blamed on me.
I feel like I just need to go and find a different job. This will be very difficult because not many companies like to hire students for these kinds of jobs that I could do, simply because I can't be there 9-5 every day. I can do almost 40 hours a week, but I need flexibility because of my classes. I don't know what will happen, but I really need some support/advice.

i mean i guess the best advice here would be to schedule a meeting w/ you bosses and simply explain in detail everything that was going on at the time and that you are fully able to make decisions and handle your job and explain to them why that one week was so terrible and that because of that one week they should not have lost trust in you abilities to make decisions and do your job

Hey man,
Start looking for that new job now! Management aren't listening and don't care and your "team" isn't one.
I work in a similar sort of job, and if I didn't have a solid technical team with a good work ethic it would make it much more difficult.
Start looking for a new job now, while you still have your current job. Don't leave the current one until you have secured a better one.

is there any possible work around? any possible 'cheats"?
talk to your boss and fil them in on what you are trying to do.

Oz is right on this one. Your company and team should appreciate you and communicate with you. If you start looking, it's not like your going to loose this job so whats the harm anyway?
I hope it works out for you! GOOD LUCK!

Interesting turn of events. I got a call from a friend who told me that the company he works for is interested in having me work for them a few months again. (I worked there all last summer) I can still keep my current job, while I'm gone for a few months.
