Should I swap my mids from my CDT's with XXX 6.5's, or go with some Rainbow components.

Hell, you just got those CDT's!!!!
lol
If you change out the mids, hit me up, I might find a use for them.

NG should be able to pop in and answer q's about the XXX mids. I'm not real sure, but you might consider the Extremis or the AA mids too...

Get Ascendants New 6.5's for $35...i know i seem like im an ascendant whore right now, but they are running the best deals. $35 and as a guy over on SSA put it when someone said there is a reason adire's Koda's cost more.
"Not really, The Koda's took more to smell, that's about it"
:)
XXX mids are said to be iffy on SQ once they hit 800ish Hz...so horns or 3 way set up are usually required for good SQ.

And the direct quote is..............................
Not really. The extremi took more power to smell. That's about it.

try a higher line from CDT. I have the HD-52's and they sound great - there is even an output on the crossover for a set of "image tweeters" to put on the dash

I just ordered the image tweets ... the HRTF curve was messing up my sound and not really lifting the image that much.

You can't just drop the XXX6.5's in place with the CDT xover...
You'll need an active xover, the XXX6.5's are good up to 1.2kHz @24dB/oct
I'd look into the AA Poly Mids as a drop in...

Personal experience... no. I've heard a few of their lines before tho, excellent SQ... some of the lower lines were lacking in volume tho...
