I need help!!

Ok, I'm working on fixing the woodruff key, so I can get this car running right again. I've got everything off, it's just I can't get at the woodruff key itself, the timing belt gear doesn't want to come off. Any suggestions on how to do this would help.
Also I need help with timing this thing, the marks that are on the gears don't match with what I have found on this site, or any others for that matter. The top gear, just has two lines exactly opposite of each other.
It is a 1995 geo metro 1.3L.
So far everything has gone smoothly, it's just I'm stuck at this point now, I'm so close to putting it back together and getting it running, I just need anyone's and eveyones input on how to get it to that point.:banghead:
