That sucks but I have 2 questions, why was a 6 year old boy at the street races at night? Also why was an 84 year old man at the street races?

The race took place on the strrets next to empty lot that the locals use pretty much as a park. The 84 yr old was dirivng like normal people do on a street not expecting to be turning into the path of two yutzes trying to prove who has the bigger nads.

yo thats crazy, and shows how come we have bad names in the public eye, and also it wasnt at night it was 5 in the evening. the little boy was playing and went with his mom and everyone else to watch the cars pass them. that sux ass. and on another note, did anyone catch the part where the reporter says the guy ahead was driving a caprise..and the looser was in a gt mustang? that was one fast family car, he didnt say he was winning, he said he was far ahead.... i just thought it was funny he would add that in there

no offense but if you are caught street racing i think you should lose your liscence and maybe even you car, why not just go to the dragstrip

:iagree: and in my area you DO lose your car.

Guess cops get 'pinks' too.

taking your car is an extreme for most scenarios in which street racing occurs. A simple light to light race where there arent any people or cars I think is harmless. Im not talking a 100mph race on 2 lane road. thats what it sound like it was. They were coming around a blind turn on a 2 lane road doing 80+ and the old man turns out and in a blink of an eye catastrophy. Especially during hours where there are lots of people around. But a simple light to light race is no call for taking someones car. A ticket, well fine.

Its true that when people think of street racing now all that they can focus on is stories like these. This was a case of two people without the proper sense or responsibility driving. And that is most of these stories. People being idiots and racing through neighborhoods and heavy traffic.

when street racing is done in safe places late at night then i see no problem with it, in fact i join in... but 5 in the afternoon in a neighborhood where there is a park nearby, fuck that. shame on all of them for using a terrible place to race, i will not condone racing on the street, i do it and i love it. but i am far smarter about where i do it. not to offend anyone, but i don't agree with the "take it to the track" stuff, i do both, and street racing is far more fun. i'm sorry that something like that happened, they should have chosen a better spot, and should have done it at a time when no one else is around

I agree completely with our crosseyed friend here, the bad thing is that some people have the mentality of "anywhere, anytime" and do it seriously, like this one guy wanted to try and race when we had about 1 car length of space between both of us and traffic ahead. Thats just not smart, but its what makes us humans..

Also another thing about streetracing, the closest track to me is a good 40 minutes away.. so I choose to streetrace but usually at night and never run a red light, thats just dumb.

thats exactly what im saying. The track is about 45 minutes away with no traffic. Just dont be dumb about it.
