Lost to a 350Z =(

So I was just cruising around heading home from class when I catch up to a nice 350Z. 350Zs have always been one of my favorite imports so I was just driving beside it, adoring the nice shade of blue. I didn't really have any intention of racing it, just wanted to enjoy the beautiful car.

Well I guess the driver thought I was pacing him, looking for a race so he rolled down his window. I did the same. He yelled something at me but I wasn't really able to make it out since we were going about 40 and it was windy. So I figure he wanted to race since the roads were clear and it was dry.

I didn't want to honk just incase there were any cops in the area, so I wait for him to gun it. I hear him downshift (I love the 350Z exhaust) and step on it so I do the same. I start to pull on him pretty good and I thought the race was more or less over. I go to shift into third and unfortunately miss it pretty bad:frown:

I just gave up and let him go, I guess I need more practice with the LS1 shifter... Oh well, no shame in losing to such a sweet car.

The 2-3 shift is easy to mess up on the F Bodies. The secret is to act like you are gripping a baseball and essentially push the knob into 3rd from second. You only have to do it at a slight right angle. It works for me everytime, and I can nail the shift in literally milliseconds. Now getting off the line is another issue :p

I'll get better at it. Never powershifted this car yet though.... And yeah, these are pretty hard to get out of the hole...

Atleast it was to your favorite import though:) I got owned last night at the track by a GTP(stock my ass) stock GTPs don't run 14.2 lol Anywho, hope everything works out with the shifting. I use to have a beast of a shift problem in my old chevy(truck) the shifter was almost 2 feet long, and the gears were spaced like mountains lol. Good luck to ya bro.

Even still, your GT is quick regardless, those 350z are sluggish as all hell on the take off. Much like the s2000
