oil pressure

I know scottsee said once that turbos dont like to see pressure over 50psi well then how come I can hit 125+psi of oil pressure and with the cruise set at 75 mph im at 75psi. I'm not worried because my turbo is fed with a ss line from the oil filter housing so it doesnt see the same oil pressure as the motor does but if I were to run it off of one on the main head galleys like stock 1gs do then it would so whats up with the high pressures? I know what makes oil pressure and I've completely reworked the upper end so I guess I either have a bad clearance in the bottom end or I mistook scottsee.

50-80 psi at cruise (3500 rpm) is not unusual for these motors. With cold oil on cold startup you can get well over 100 psi. My 100 pound guage was always pegged on startup. Idle should be at least 15-20 or so, but down to 10 is normal.

The turbo taking oil from the filter housing will see nearly the same pressure you see on the guage. Pressure at the head will be much lower, hence the reason people with BB turbos use a head feed. Scotsee may have been refering to BB turbos with the 50 psi figure.
