truck won't run

I washed under my hood the other day after mudding and didn't have it runing and left it till today and went to start it and it sounded like there was exhaust coming out of my air breather under my hood. Then it shut off and won't start. I don't know if it's because of the water but i'm guessing it is. I checked it's getting gas spark and air. it's a 02 tacoma 3.4 Any help thanks.

Take off the distributor cap and blow it out with compressed air, in the distributer too. Pull off the plug wires at both ends (one wire at a time) and blow the wire ends too. Spay a shot of WD-40 in the distributor and cap and wire ends for good measure. When you wash your engine, don't use a pressure washer unless you know what you're doing. And personally, I prefer not to leave the vehicle running (as you may have been told) unless you don't mind cracking the block. Cold water and hot engines don't mix.
