v6 to v8?

Yes i am talking about my firebird. its a 3.8 v6. I was wondering how i can change my slow v6 to a v8? I would definately have to swap my old engine with a v8 one. I am asking this becuz i kno people who own firebirds that have lt1's or ls1's. I can see how a v8 engine for instance, if it was a reg v8 could be swapped for another v8 like lt1 or ls1. So my point is that if i were to go from v6 to v8, i would have to spend more money compared to a v8 getting another v8 engine. What do you guys recommend in terms of swaping my engine or should i stick with a v6 and modify it?
Currently i am running on about 210hp. Everything is stock except the exhaust system. I put a 40series muffler and got new pipes with it. In addition to this if i were to stick with v6, what modifications can i do to increase the horses? Please be specific when listing the possible choices. Any replies would be welcomed. Thankyou

God this is just like the other 5,000,000 other posts ppl post here. They end up getting a v6 then a couple years later wanna swap an LS1. bottom line, ITS NOT WORTH IT. IF U REALLY WANNA LS1, SELL THE CAR U HAVE NOW, SAVE UP THEN BUY A V8. Most ppl are like i want it because its a sleeper. Why??? pulling up besides a stang flashing the firebird sign and end up blowing them away???

It has been covered before in detail why it is not worth converting a V6 to V8. Basically, you could buy a car that already a V8 and modify the hell out of it for what it would cost to do the conversion...especially if you have to pay someone else to do any of it for you. If you like the car, modify it. Im not sure about V6 specifics so others will have to chime in here. Intake and industion stuff is usually mentioned along with ignition components and gears. If you want to get into the computer, they have programs you can use your laptop to modify factory settings to add preformance as well.

Chill out man.
Nothing wrong with him asking. Keeps the forum busy. Granted...the answer (opinions anyway) have been posted before.

Personally...the swap is not worth it. Very expensive. Easier and cheaper to sell yours and get the V8 version.
If you are still wanting to go the swap route...we can guide you in the right direction.

but if you want to mod a v6, you have the right one for it, the 3.8 does well with mods.

try out this site, the link will take you directly to all the mods available for your '99, but as your lookin over parts just make sure its usuable for the 3.8, but almost everything on there is for V6's and V8's so you should have plenty of options..
