Serpentine belts

Anyone can tell me how to chenge a serpentine belts on a 740 IL 1999 , i can't find way to do it the tensiner set up is different than most cars:banghead: .How to loosen them up.Please quick responde necessery.

Go to www.realoem.com and the BMW parts and check out the engine and belt drive (pictures). I believe you have the dog leg style (like my 1988 750) and there is a bolt through a bolt head at one end of the leg and a bolt that acts as a pivot at the plate with the slot for adjusting tension. Loosewn all bolts and then using the double bolt, you put a wrench on the fixed bolt and adjust and then while holding that bolt tighten the bolt that goes through the fix bolt head. After that, tighten all oter bolts.
