Your wheels weight 16 lbs...9 lbs sounds EXTREMELY LIGHT!

really they weigh 16 lbs? but yeah i have been doing some research and i have found the vx rims weigh supposedly around 10-11 lbs. so a 6lb drop is alot times that by 4 you are dropping nearly 25lbs in weight and those are moving parts so i would think that would make some difference

Absolutely it would..and about 4 lbs. you should notice the difference too.

hx rims weigh 11 pounds. they are 14 inch though.

what you are forgetting to mention is they are Enkei wheels made for honda...complete with an Enkei stamp on the backside (inside) of the rim...

they are light and cool :naughty:

Smaller diameter wheels will be able to spin up faster and light wheels are easier to spin so a smaller light wheel is good.

Yeah, also..especially with the b series, smaller wheels will allow you to keep the rpms higher, through corners and such, therfore allowing you to stay in the power.

Go with Rota slipstreams...cant go wrong and if you need a pic i have one with them on my car and its clean and not so ricey like my bodykit i put on haha

oh and they weigh in lil over 12lbs each

I was looking at the Rotas, i dont particularly like the slipstreem, and alot of the others ones dont quite appeal to me either..I dont like the inward curve of the spokes at the lip of the wheel, prefer it to be a lil straighter, but Im good with wheels for now...

i replaced the steel wheels on my hatch with the 13" vx wheels and it began regularly returning 3 or 4 mpg more over the steelies. i was impressed and yes, they are consideriably lighter than the steel wheels that were on it when i got it. just wish they were wider...

Yeah, the lighter the rim, the less rotational inertia.. if your interested in the physics of rims. Inertia is based on radius and mass... the less of each means greater angular acceleration. However, the only downside to having rims with less inertia means they cant store energy as good as larger rims. But lighter rims are ideal for everyday stop-and-go driving and accelleration/deceleration.

Yeah..same with a lighter flywheel, itll rev up much faster...but it will also spin down faster, and if the engine bogs..the weight cant keep it spinning nearly as well.

yeah i hear you on the flywheel, the only thing is it is hard to come by a flywheel for an 88'(different spline count) and lighter flywheel are expensive, still looking for a cheap light flywheel. if anyone knows where i can get one; hala back at me.

GTA

the only diff with an 88 is the clutch. the flywheel does not matter for the spline count. the size matters though, which 88-89 has 200mm clutchs and 90-91 had 220mm. so if you find a lightweight flywheel for an 89 clutch your current clutch will bolt onto it. you also could get one of the newer ones 90-2001 and then get a clutch from a company like ACT which makes a 220mm clutch for the 88 spline count of 21.

that is correct

and a good choice of wheels. very light and can look great

yeah sorry that is what i meant the clutch is different not the flywheel thanx for the correction
