Good deal.
My first prelude was a yellow 1988 Si 4WS. The guy broke a timing belt and said "Tow it home and its yours" lol..ended up being a head gasket, new valves, timing belt, valve cover gasket and muffler plus 2 front seats but it's all good :)

Dude, sounds like my deal on an '89 4S 2.0 SI that I just got !!
Trying to get a fix on how much it will cost to fix it (from the junkyard)
Dude toasted the timing belt, just like you.
Any pointers for a a guy with motorcyle wrench background ?

I actually just ordered a B20A5 head off ebay that had premo valves.
They weren't bent or anything only paid 50.00 for it and 29.00 for shipping. You could always hit up a junk yard but that way you have to pay to get in, either pull it yourself or pay someone to pull it then get it home, wont know if it has bent valves or not until you light shine the ports in a pitch black room (- I found this to be the easiest way -) INstall it just to find out the valves are bent and warped from the valve seats. Heres what I recomend doing - Go to a self pull junk yard, pull the head off a 88 + prelude that has the B20A5 motor, leave everything else -> I mean strip the head bare and take it and have it cleaned, put some new valves, springs , retainer clips all that good stuff that way you know you basically got a brand new head for the car. Another good idea is to have it machined as well to make sure you have 0 waring in the head. Port polish, powder coat whatever afterwards but I estimate you'll spend about $200.00 for everything you need minus head gasket. So not 'that' much but a lot less than paying some mechanic to fix it for you. That motor is very easy..extremely easy to work on..god I must have had my head off about 5 times in a 3 month period working on shit lol..
Good luck bro.

Mines an 89 2.0 4WS.
I'm going to check out e-bay for the head.
Your advice makes a lot of sense vice getting one from the junkyard!
Don't want to get it all gasketed-in and find out its about to shit the bed.

Exactly. Good luck and hope you find one. If not, I have some resources I can pass on :)

Appreciate the reply !
Can I get some resource guidance from you ?
Not having the luck I was hoping for on e-bay or the local trader papers.
And my willingness to wait it out is being kept in check by my cash stash.
Any info is going to get me closer to enjoying what she was built for !

One of my buddies here locally has a Honda wrecking yard. Honda's only I can see if he has a spare head. I can probably get it for you like 40.00 + shipping I know he sells complete motors untested for 300 min. Comp tested 500.
I can probably nab up a untested for around 175 and a tested around 350 ish. I'll talk to him and see what I can work out tomorrow should be fair if not free lol..god i've done him a lot of favors he owes me lol.
