95 Suburban detonation

Have a 95 throttle body 5.7 that has 100,000 miles that all of a sudden wants to ping. I was wondering if it could have a bad sensor or something to cause this. It seems to only happen during light throttle situations. It happens from a dead stop and when it shifts, both 1/2 and 2/3. Thanks in advance for all info.

I would try some different fuel, check your fuel filter, check your timing, check your knock sensor. Fuel is most common problem, first thing I would do is stick some mid or premium in it, timing next, the knock sensor doesn't go out all that often and should set a code if it malfunctions. Your O2 sensor could be leaning things out, and the throttle body gasket has a history of leaking. Check the TB gasket by starting the engine and spraying something like brake clean around the TB, if the engine changes you have a leak. Sorry not to narrow it down any more.
