anyone have any experience changing this switch? Does the steering wheel have to come off and if so how hard is it to do? Thanks.. Any help would be great!

I have replaced the turn signal interrupter and the springs that lock in the left or right turn signal switches before. It is quite a daunting task

you will need to purchase a steering wheel puller and a center spring compressor (there is a more specific name, but I dont know it off the top of my head). The Haynes book has adequate instructions for the 91 PA.

Heres how I remember it

Disconnect the Airbag connector at the base of the steering column (bright yellow connector)
Unscrew the airbag using screws on back of wheel
carefully remove airbag and set aside where it wont be bumped
pull off steering wheel using puller
remove wire coil that connects the airbag wire (there are special instructions to keep alignment correct)

here it gets a bit hazy... you have to compress a plate using a special bracket (center spring compressor) and the nut that holds on the wheel, then while the plate is compressed, you have to remove a super annoying clip that holds the compressed plate in place. this is very tricky and involves either special pliers or some needle nose ones and a flat blade screwdriver.

once you get that plate off, you have access to the turn signal interrupter, and the springs. This is as far as I got. I believe the switch lies beneath.

Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions or comments.

edit:
I found my thread I made a detailed description about the procedure in, check it out.
