I need help with my 1999 Passport!

I took my Passport in because it was having trouble starting and come to find out it needed a new fuelpump. After that, I was having trouble with my gearshift moving into gear, so I had to have a button inside of that fixed, and then one day I was driving and my engine turned off while I was still driving!!! Not only this, but my truck is still starting rough occasionally and that's why I took it to the shop in the first place. I took it back and he said he adjusted the idle and it should be fine, but it's not. This time I was on the freeway and the whole console lit up like it was turning off, so I put my foot on the gas and it started up again. I was able to get it home and it hasn't happened since, but I'm going to have to take it back to the shop where they worked on it and would like to know if anyone has a clue as to what's wrong with it now??? I'd appreciate any feedback...Thanks

The rough idle could be a bad intake manifold gasket.

All the light could be due to a bad connecting at the battery, bad ground, battery is on the way out of the alt isn't putting out enough power.

very impressive...one of the last things they fixed was the gasket. originally it was taken in to get a sensor replaced because the check engine light was on, but he said that wasn't it and replaced the gasket. however, it is still experiencing rough starts, and more frequently than before. that is what i originally took the truck to the mechanic for in the first place...and they replaced the fuel pump.

thank you for your response.

Sounds like a fuel or electrical problem. A leaking intake gasket just doesn't go away. Make sure they changed the fuel filter with the pump.
