Does anyone here actually know anything about Subies?

ok, so I've been looking around here, and all I've seen is stupid questions about BOV and other river mods. Does anyone here actually know anything about subies?

No, absolutely nothing, maybe you can impart some wisdom.

I know just about every-thing there is to know ask a question and i'll answer. I can tell you anything from cylinder specs ( 99.5 mm bore, 79 mm stroke, 9.7 compression ratioReally on 2.0 L ) to how much tire pressure should be ( 32 psi all around ).
So if you have a question ask away, and I'll answer them.

Ummm, which tires, which Subaru, ambient temperature, suspension setup, what you are filling the tires with (compressed air, nitrogen, or other) and the driving conditions all greatly affect what the ideal tire pressures are. Anyone who reccommends a generic tire pressure for all Subarus without taking these things into account isn't a genius on ony level. Maybe you can back it up, but it's not looking good so far.

Thanks for reminding me, this applys to "ALL Imprezas" because this is the impreza forum. And those specs are for the factory tires, not including the Sti's BBS's, but the factory 16's. Yes climates change and so do driving condictions so know you roads and be smart about you chose of tire. Rember this is for factory tires, and it states tire psi in the Impreza manual.
As for the motor specs if you don't think there right, look them up. :D

so a 2.0L 4-cylinder WRX has a bore * stroke spec of 99.5mm * 79mm??
I'd LOVE for you to show me how this is even mathematically possible...
99.5mm x 79mm specs are from a 2.5L, the 2.0L B/S = 92mm/75mm
Do you even own a Subaru?? Have you even seen one??
:iceslolan
BTW.. the compression ratio for a 2.0L WRX = 8.0:1 ;)

Pm me stupid.
Personally, instead of getting insulting, I think we would rather see you prove your knowledge on the forum.
AzSandSlinger is correct though, you're listing the spec of the 2.5 engine and saying it's the 2.0, whereas the 2.0 is indeed a 92mm x 75mm bore.
Like i said in my other post "PM me if you wanna rip on my willing'ness to help, or atleast put somthing of use for him." If you wanna pick fights with people all day try "myspace". Not trying to start but rather trying to end.

I have no problem with people that are willing to help, I have a serious problem with people who post incorrect information, plagiarise other people's work and pretend to be all knowing.
I know a fair deal about our horizontally opposed friends, but I sure as hell don't know everything and I doubt anyone does.

good to see there are actually some educated people on here. It was starting to look pretty dismal compared to the main suby forums

Can you please explain how the 32 PSI applies to "ALL Imprezas"?
It may be the factory reccommendation for the Imprezas with 16" wheel/tire packages, but it's a big leap from there to "ALL Imprezas". Even if you limit it to factory packages, some of the WRX's came with 17" wheel and tire packages, and many of the earlier Imprezas came with 14" wheel and tire packages from the factory.
FWIW, on my stock 99 2.5RS with 16" wheels and factory tires, I found there to be better grip and balance running 34F 32R on the street and had to run them at 38F 36R on track to keep them from chunking too badly.
As for the motor specs, I'll leave that to the others, as I have never done any major engine work on either of the Subarus I've owned, and the only boxer engine I've taken apart or rebuilt was from a 1971 Porsche 911. Most of my specialized automotive knowledge is suspension and tire related, and I know what the limits of my knowledge are.
PS. learning to run a spell or grammar check on your posts will make you seem like a lot more of a "genius"
