We are still trying to fix up this car and get it on the road so I can run it back and forth to college instead of my truck.
The igntion will not stay in the run position, the car will start and if you hold the key in the run position it will run and drive (kinda hard to drive while holding the key and shifting gears thou) but when you let go of it after the car starts the key kicks back too far and shuts the car off.
Any idea what we need to replace to solve this problem?

tumblers. Don't cost much. but you have to pull the steering wheel to do so.

Thanks for the reply. Can I get that at a parts store or perhaps ebay?
parts store I talked to earlier said i would need the whole assembly cuz a spring was broke inside and only way to fix that was to buy the whole thing (around $200 )
I dont think so, Ill be searchin junk yards before I pay that.

---Eric That`s what I`d do get one at a scrap yard and get a haynes manual to do the job
